Gola Barood was an action movie released in the year of 1989. The movie was directed by David Dhawan and produced by Ravindra Dhanu. The major roles in the movie were played by Shatrughan Sinha, Sonam, Chunky Pandey and Kimi Katkar while the presence of Sadashiv Amrapurkar, Gulshan Grover and Dalip Tahil supported the film. The music of the film was directed by Bappi Lahiri.

Gola Barood was an usual action flick that revolved mostly around Inspector Mahendra Nath ( Sudhir Pandey ) who is a middle class family man living in Bombay with his wife ( Anjana Mumtaz ), and son, Vijay ( Chunky Pandey ). He is an honest, simple and true officer who liked doing his duty honestly and this is the reason why he gets into the bad books of a gangster named Davar ( Sadashiv Amrapurkar ). Davar now wanted to kill Vijay.

Davar was after Vijay to kill him but somehow Vijay manages to escape and was rescued by an honest truck driver named Shambhu ( Shatrughan Sinha ). When Mahendra goes to avenge this attempted killing, he himself is shot dead. Vijay swears to take revenge of his father’s death by reforming the criminals and thus is hired by the Deputy Jailor. Shambhu was in jail and makes it clear that no jail can hold him too long, Vijay accepts this challenge and swears that he will capture and bring back Shambhu again.
