The family drama Halal Ki Kamai was released on August 5, 1988. The movie was directed by Swaroop Kumar and produced by Monika Padhal. The key roles in the movie were played by Govinda, Sonika Gill, Farha and Om Prakash while Renu, Raza Murad, Gulshan Grover, Shakti Kapoor and Jugnu were also there in the film. The music of the film was directed by Bappi Lahiri while the songs were sung by Asha Bhosle and Shabbir Kumar. The lyrics of the movie were given by Anjaan.

The female lead in the film was played by Farha who debuted with the movie Mehfil released in 1972. She has also given many hits to the Bollywood. The other lead role in the movie was played by Sonika Gill.
