Bollywood yesteryear hit suspense thriller, Hamraaz, starring Raj Kumar, Sunil Dutt and Vimi in lead roles was released on October 16, 1967. The movie was written and directed by B. R. Chopra. The other starcast of the film includes Ratan Gaurang, Birbal, Urmila Bhatt, Mumtaz, Helen, Balraj Sahani, Sarika, Achala Sachdev, Jagdish Raj, Madan Puri, Raj Kishore, Iftekhar, Jeevan, Anwar Hussain and Keshav Rana in significant characters. The music of the movie was directed by the music director Ravi while the songs were beautifully crooned by Mahendra Kapoor and Asha Bhonsle.

The movie starts with Captain Rajesh ( Raj Kumar ) and his lady love, Meena ( Vimi ). They both are planning to get married soon. But unfortunately Meena recives the news that Rajesh has been missing after the war at border. Amry declares him dead and Meena get devastated with this news. Then enters a well known singer Kumar ( Sunit Dutt ) in her life. Kumar falls in love with Meena and help her in overcoming from her sadness. Meena too falls in love with him. Soon they both get married to each other. Just before his death, Meena’s father ( Manmohan Krishna ), tells her a truth that he had hidden from her.

Meena learns that she has a daughter named Sarika ( Sarika ) living in an orphanage. Kumar notices a change in Meena’s behaviour and becomes supicious about it. He finds out that Meena is continously meeting with another man. He tries to learns who is that guy but fails. Shorthly thereafter, Meena is found killed. Police Inspector Ashok ( Balraj Sahani ) suspects Kumar for this murder. Kumar is now determined to find out the truth and for that he needs to learn about Meena’s past?
