Bollywood musical romantic flick, Heena, directed by Randhir kapoor and written by Khwaja Ahmad Abbas was released on 28 June 1991. The movie starred Rishi Kapoor and Zeba Bakhtiar in lead roles while Ashwini Bhave, Mohnish Behl, Farida jalal, Kiran Kumar, Saeed Jaffrey, Raza Murad, Arun Bakshi, Dilip Dhawan, Reema lagoo and Tina Ghai also played important characters in the film. The hit evergreen music of the movie was directed by The well knwon music director Ravindra Jain while the songs were crooned by Mohammed Aziz, Suresh wadkar, Lata Mangeshkar etc.

Chander Prakash ( Rishi Kapoor ) is in love with a beautiful girl named Chandni ( Ashwini Bhave ). Chandni introduces him to her parents, who gives their nod for their marraige. Chander and Chandni marraige is arranged but destiny strikes and Chander meets with a severe accident while coming to the wedding place. Chandni and her family assumes that Chander is in no more alive. However, Chandni decides to remain single throughout his life. On the otherhand, Chander is alive and is rescued by a beautiful Pakistani girl named Heena ( Zeba Bakhtiar ).

Heena is living alongwith her father, Khan baba ( Saeed Jaffrey ) near the river, Jhelum, in Pakistan. Heena takes Chander home and nurse him with the help of Bibi Gul ( Farida Jalal ). Chander recovers but fails to recall about himself. he has even forgotten his name. He is then given a name Chand by Heena and everyone then starts calling him with this name. Soon Chand and Heena falls in love with each other and decides to get married much to the chargein of Shahbaaz Khan ( Raza Murad ), who is an inpector by profession.
