The Hindi movie Hum Tere Aashiq Hain was released on 30 November 1979. Prem Sagar produced as well as directed the movie. The star cast of the movie included Jeetendra, Hema Malini and Amjad Khan while Shreeram Lagoo, Om Shiv Puri, Keshto Mukherjee and Sheetal played the supporting roles. Asha Bhosle, Kishore Kumar and Mahendra Kapoor sang the songs and Sahir Ludhianvi wrote the lyrics for the songs. Ravindra Jain was the music director for the movie.

Anand ( Jeetendra ) flee to England with his dad Thakur Vikram Singh after the death of his mother. At the very same time, British also left India. Years later, Anand completes his MBBS and sets off to Bombay, India to assist Dr. Pradhan ( Shreeram Lagoo ) for six months. Anand’s marriage is already fixed with Lalita ( Sheetal ), daughter of Thakur’s Legal Advisor, Jackson ( Sujit Kumar ).He must return home within six months for his wedding ceremony.

Six months go by and Anand does not return. Thakur along with Jackson and Lalita decide to travel to India to witness if everything is fine with him. Unexpectedly, They find him romancing with Rajkumari Sanyogta ( Hema Malini ) and both are expected to get married soon. Initially, Thakur does not approve their relation. However, Anand succeeds in convincing him for his marriage with Rajkumari. However, what happens when he comes to know that Rajkumari is a flower-selling belle from his hometown of Balrampur and Anand may not be his son.
