Bollywood action thriller, Insaaf, written and directed by Dayal Nihalani was released on May 30, 1997. The movie was released under the banner of Manish Arts. The movie starred Akshay Kumar and Shilpa Shetty in lead roles while Paresh Rawal, Ranjeet, Rana Jung Bahadur, Anjalika Mathur Nigam, Alok Nath, Achyut Potdar, Vishwajeet Pradhan, Mohan Joshi and Anil Nagrath also played significant characters in the film. The melodious hit music of the movie was composed by the hit music director duo Anand Milind while the songs were rendered by Abhijeet, Vinod Rathod, Alka yagnik, Alisha Chinoi and Poornima.

The movie starts with a girl named Aarti Singh ( Anjalika Mathur Nigam ), who works as a school teacher. She goes on a picnic alongwith the school kids. There she witnesses the murder of a underworld don named Janardhan ( Rana Jung Bahadur ) by another gang leader Chiman Bhai ( Paresh Rawal ). She tries to move away from there silently but fails and Chiman Bhai reveals about her presence there. He goes after her alongwith his goons. Soon he manage to locate her in the park but learns that she is not alone but with some school children. Chiman Bhai then kills Aarti and all the school kids with her.

Vikram Singh ( Akshaye Khanna ), who is the brother of Aarti and also a police inspector by profession decides to learn about the culprit behind this killing. He ask his girlfriend, Divya ( Shilpa Shetty ) to pose as Aarti so that he can lure the killers to come out in open. But his plan fails miserably as he is now on a run from police as well as from Chiman Bhai’s goons. Now how Vikram learns about the real culprit behind the killing and how he punish them is the rest of the story.The songs of the movie are :
