Izzatdar was an action thriller released on March 16, 1990. The movie was directed by K Bapaiah and produced by Sudhakar Bokade. The lead roles in the movie were played by Dilip Kumar, Madhuri Dixit, Govinda and Tina Ghai while Rakesh Bedi, Dilip Dhawan, Asrani and Shafi Inamdaar were also there in the film. The music of the film was directed by Laxmikant Kudalkar and Pyarelal while the songs were sung by Mohammad Aziz, Lata Mangeshkar, Alka Yagnik, Suresh Wadkar and Kavita Krishnamurthy.

Izzatdar was a social movie that was also filled with action and thrills. As the name of the movie suggests, the movie is the story of a man for whom his pride comes at the top. The story of the movie revolves around Braham Dutt ( Dilip Kumar ) and his wife Sujata. He is a simple man whose life came across a major obstacle when his daughter Sonu ( Swapna ) informed them about her love with a guy named Inderjit Sabharwal ( Raghuvaran ).

Braham Dutt agreed to meet Inderjit to have his opinion of him but he didn’t approve of his ideas and was very suspicious of his character. The consequences made Sonu to take sleeping pills that made Braham Dutt to approve of their relationship and accept him as his son-in-law. Marriage takes place and Inderjit started showing his true identity. First he creates a rift between Brahm Dutt and his business partners ( Anupam Kher and Shafi Inamdar ), and then sets about systematically destroying the Dutt family and his wife.
