Jaadugar was a fantasy movie released on August 25, 1989. The movie was directed as well as produced by Prakash Mehra. The key roles in the movie were played by Amitabh Bachchan, Aditya Pancholi, Jaya Prada and Pran while Amrita Singh, Amrish Puri, Raza Murad, Ram Sethi, Bharat Bhushan and Johny Lever were also there in the film. The music of the film was directed by Kalyanji Virji Shah, Anandji Virji Shah and Javed Akhtar while the songs were sung by Alka Yagnik, Kumar Sanu, Amitabh Bachchan, Sadhna Sargam and Sapna Mukherji.

Jaadugar was a fantasy cum social movie that revolved mostly around a guy Shankar Narayan ( Aditya Pancholi ) returned from America. Shankar was in a state of shock that his father who has been to jail and had also remained a businessman was worshipped by the people of a small town named Dharampur as the Mahaprabhu Janak Sagar Jagat Narayan ( Amrish Puri ). He has always managed to fool the people of the town.

Mahaprabhu has learned some tricks from his in-mates and using these tricks he has managed to fool the people of the town and thus was worshipped for his divine powers. He was considered like a God there among his followers. One day Shankar come across a magician named Goga ( Amitabh Bachchan ) and wanted him to visit the town Dharampur. There, Goga challenges the Mahaprabhu and throws him out of his throne. Now Goga was their God and now calls himself Gogeshwar.
