Bollywood actor, Jackie Shroff or jaikishen Kakubhai Shroff , was born on 1 February 1957 in Mumbai, India. He made his Hindi film debut in the year 1982 with a supporting roles in Dev Anand starrer Swami Dada. He was then launched as a leading actor in Subhash Ghai’s romantic- thriller movie Hero. He co-starred beautiful Meenakshi Sheshadri in the film. The movie became a huge hit and made Jackie an overnight star. His next film came in the form of 1984 released Andar bahar in which he worked alongside another bollywood actor, Anil Kapoor.

Later he worked again with Anil Kapoor in action thriller Yudh. He also won acclaim for his performance in the film titled Teri Meherbaniyan. He played a superhero in the movie titled Shiva ka Insaaf which proved out out to be a huge box office failure. He was then seen in the multistarrer action flick Karma. He once again collaborated with Anil Kapoor and delievered back to back hit film such as Ram Lakhan, Parinda, Kala Bazaar etc. He also won the Filmfare Best Actor Award for his performance in Parinda. He gave a seies of hit films in the form of Saudagar, Tridev, King Uncle, Khalnayak, 1942 : A Love Story etc.

He gave a superb performance in the role of a common man who takes on the criminal elements in the society in 1993 released Gardish. later he turned towards doing supporting roles in the films like Rangeela, Agnisakshi, Bandhan, Sirf Tum etc. He also played a villanious role in Sunny Deol starrer Farz. he won acclaims for his performance in the role of Chunni babu in Shahrukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai starrer Devdas. His last released film Thodi Life Thoda Magic failed to do well at the box office.
