Bollywood emotional family drama, Janani, directed by Chander H. Nahl was released on November 17, 2006. The movie starred Mohnish Behl and Bhagyashree in lead roles while Ayesha Jhulka, Aman Verma, Sonica Handa, Vineet Rana, Anjana Mumtaz and Sumit Seth also played important roles in the film. The music of the movie was directed by the music director Nirmal Pawar while the songs were beautifully crooned by Vinod Rathod, Vaishali Samant, Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik etc.

The movie starts with a wealthy businessman named Raj ( Mohnish Behl ), who lives alongwith his beautiful wife, Urmila ( Ayesha Jhulka ) and their only child, Rahul ( Vineet Raina ). Rahul is in college and is in love with a beautiful girl named Neha Awasthi ( Sonica Handa ). Rahul gets physical with Neha and as a result of this Neha becomes pregnant. Neha puts pressure on Rahul to introduce her to his parents. Rahul then takes Neha to his home and introduce her to his parents. Raj and Urmila get impressed with Neha and therefore permits them to get married with each other.

But problem arises when Raj and Urmila reveals that Neha is the daughter of Tarun ( Aman Verma ) and Akansha Awasthi ( Bhagyashree ). Rahul is asked to forget Neha for ever. Rahul gets surprised by this gesture of his parents and decides to learns about the secret behind his parent’s sudden negativity to his marriage with Neha. Rahul get shocked to learn about the love relationship between his father and Neha’s mother.
