The movie Jannat was released on May 16, 2008 under the banner of Vishesh Films. Jannat is a social movie based on sports directed by Kunal Deshmukh and produced by Mukesh Bhatt. The actors in the lead roles are Emraan Hashmi, Samir Kochhar, Sonal Chauhan, Vishal Malhotra, Javed Sheikh and Vipin Sharma. The story of the movie is about Arjun ( Emraan Hashmi ) who gets caught in the limelight of making quick and easy money not knowing about its negative effects. Arjun is a careless man with a fascination for making money gambling and infact he is quiet good at gambling.

Arjun met a girl in a mall named Zoya ( Sonal Chauhan ) and started loving her from that very moment. To meet different requirements he then decides to become a bookie. His ‘sixth sense’ on betting on cricket wins him good money. The couple then moves to South Africa, where Arjun starts working for a famous Don and starts fixing matches for him. The sudden and huge progress made by him catches the attention of the cops. Zoya works a plan with police and sets him up with the cops. Arjun then decides to leave all his wrong deeds but he was tempted to work for the last time where everything goes wrong and a cricket team’s coach gets killed.
