The comedy movie Jhankaar Beats was released on June 20, 2003 under the banner of Pritish Nandy Communications. The movie was directed by Sujoy Ghosh and produced by Rangita Pritish Nandy. The actors in the lead roles were Sanjay Suri, Rahul Bose, Juhi Chawla and Rinke Khanna while the roles of Shayan Munshi and Riya Sen were also important. Music of the film was directed by Shekhar-Vishal while the songs were sung by Sudesh Bhosle, Udit Narayan, Amit Kumar, Mahalakshmi Iyer and Shaan.

Jhankaar Beats is a story of three guys having the same desire of getting successful and facing life with smiles on their face. The movie explores life’s funny side and makes us realize the importance of humor in our lives. The story of the movie revolves around three couples each in some strange state of their relationships. Deep ( Sanjay Suri ) has a good wife Shanti ( Juhi Chawla ) and sweet daughter Muskaan. Shanti is expecting another child again and to help her, her mother comes to stay with them which is a big task for Deep.

While Deep is preparing himself to stay with her mother-in-law, his best friend Rishi ( Rahul Bose ) is finding it difficult to stay with her wife Nicky ( Rinke Khanna ) and decides to break up with her. Rishi was let with no other option than the divorce. Both Deep and Rishi work as advertising executives but turn to musicians in night. They have been losing a music contest called ‘Jhankaar Beats’ for the last two years. The twist in the story comes when they meet a management trainee from New York, Neel ( Shayan Munshi ), who is their boss’s son.
