Bollywood action thriller, Jigar, directed by Farogh Siddique was released in the year 1992. the movie starred Ajay Devgan and Karishma Kapoor in lead roles while Ajit, Aruna Irani, Gulshan Grover, Ishrat Ali, Paresh Rawal, Arjun and Jamuna also played important roles in the film. The music of the film was given by the famous music director duo Anand-Milind while the songs were rendered by Abhijeet, Kumar Sanu, Udit Narayan, Mohammed Aziz, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Sadhana Sargam etc. the movie was a box office hit.

The movie starts with Raj Verma aka Raju ( Ajay Devgan ), who falls in love with a beautiful girl named Suman ( Karishma Kapoor ) after seeing her for the first time in his friend’s wedding. Suman too falls for him. Raju returns to his home after completing his studies and learns that Suman is the younger sister of his childhood friend Duryodhan ( Arjun ), who lives in the same society. Duryodhan is a fighter who fights in the ring for his boss, Lal Bihari ( Paresh Rawal ). Duryodhan also performs various illegal tasks for Lal Bihari.

Duryodhan is having a bad eye on Raju’s younger sister. When Raju learns about this he breaks all his relationship with Duryodhan and Suman. But Suman convinces him that she can not live without him. Duryodhan tries to force Suman to marry Lal Bihari but Suman lies that she is pregant from Raju. In anger, Duryodhan rapes Raju’s younger sister in public and also beats Raju. Now Raju wants revenge and for that he needs to be a good fighter like Duryodhan. He starts his martial arts training under Baba Thakur ( Ajit ).
