Bollywood suspense action thriller, Jurm, directed by Mahesh Bhatt and written by Salim Khan was released on July 5, 1990. The movie starred Vinod Khanna and Meenakshi Sheshadri in lead roles while Sangeeta Bijlani, Anang Desai, Shafi Inamdar, Mahesh Anand, Om Shivpuri, Baby Guddu, Sharat Saxena and Girija Shankar also played significant characters in the film. The meldious music of the film was given by the well known music director Rajesh Roshan while the songs were rendered by Kumar Sanu, Sadhana Sargam, Asha Bhonsle etc.

The movie starts with an honest and brave Police Inspector, Shekhar Verma ( Vinod Khanna ). Shekhar lives with his wife, Meena ( Meenakshi Sheshadri ) and a baby girl. He learns that a news paper editor Ritesh Nandy ( Akash Khurana ) has recieved some death threats from some influential persons. Shekhar provides police protection to Ritesh but still he is killed by someone. Shekhar then revelas that a beautiful women named Geeta Sarabhai ( Sangeeta Bijlani ) is the eye witness of the murder. Now Geeta starst receiveing death threats calls to which Shekhar himself alongwith Inspector Pramod Kadam ( Shafi Inamdar ) decides to protect her.

But in the process of saving Geeta’s from the murderer, Shekhar falls in love with her. Shakhar and Meena gets physical. Meena starst suspecting that Shekhar is having an affair with some other lady. When she reveals about Shekhar and Geeta’s relationship, she moves out from the house alongwith her daughter. Pramod is severely injured while protecting Geeta from the murderer. Shekhar reveals that Ritesh’s murder involves some high ranked police officers from his department.
