Kaash was a family drama released on September 4, 1987 under the banner of Yokahama Prod. The movie was directed by Harish Bhonsle and Himanshu Brahmbhatt while it was produced by Anwar Ali and Farouq Rattonsey. The key roles in the movie were played by Jackie Shroff, Satish Kaushik, Dimple Kapadia and Anupam Kher while Master Makrand, Mehmood, Dalip Tahil, Mukri, Akash Khurana and Avtar Gill were aso there in the film. The music of the film was directed by Nirmal Kumar and Rajesh Roshan while the songs were sung by Anupama Deshpande, Mohammad Aziz, Asha Bhosle, Sonali Bajpai, Talat Mahmood and Kishore Kumar.

Kaash was a family movie that revolved mostly around Ritesh ( Jackie Shroff ) who is a film star who lives in the past. Everything was going fine until one day he realizes that he was under great burden by his film makers and creditors. Due to these factors he becomes an alcoholic. He is married to a girl named Pooja ( Dimple Kapadia ). To support her family and ensure that it faces no problem, she was required to work.

The twist in the story comes when there were constant fights between the husband wife Ritesh and Pooja. They have a child Romi ( Master Makrand ) who became a daily spectator of their fights. Alok ( Anupam Kher ) saves her from the fights and also offered her a job in his firm. Ritesh asks her to choose between her job and her spouse. She goes with the job and thus leaves. Ritesh wins the custody of their child Romi who was going to die off cancer one day. Thus both Ritesh and Pooja agrees to stay together for his happiness.
