Bollywood family action drama, Kahani Kismat Ki, directed by Arjun Hingorani was released in the year 1973. The movie starred Dharmendra and Rekha in lead roles while Ajit, Bharat Bhushan, Jayshree T., Rajendra nath, Yunus Parvez, Abhi Bhattacharya, Jankidas and Sulochana Latkar also played significant characters in the film. The hit melodious music of the movie was composed by the hit veteran music director Kalyanji-Anandji while the songs were rendered by Kishore Kumar, Mukesh, Asha Bhonsle etc.

The movie starts with a guy named Ajit Sharma ( Dharmendra ), who is living alongwith his widowed mother, elder brother, Gopuram ( Rajendra Nath ), younger brother and a younger sister. He is trying hard to get a job but fails everytime. He then decides to take path of crime. He starts robbing and stealing money. Soon he is arrested by police and is sentenced to jail for two years. After getting released from jail, he decides to go straight in his life. He once again starts his search for employment.

Ajit finds out a bag filled with cash. He first decides to use that cash for himself but later decides to return that bag to the owner. He finds out tha owner, Prem Chand ( Ajit ) and returns him the bag. Premchand then emplys him in his office. Ajit meets with Premchand’s daughter, Rekha ( Rekha ) and falls in love with her. They both decides to get married soon but before that could happen a women enters in their life claiming that Ajit is her husband. Who is this lady and why she is claiming that Ajit is her husband?
