Khalnayak was an action drama released on August 6, 1993 under the banner of Mukta Arts Ltd. The movie was directed by Subash Ghai and was produced by Ashok Ghai and Subash Ghai. The major roles in the movie are played by Sanjay Dutt, Mdhuri Dixit and Jackie Shroff. Some good roles were played by Rakhee, Neena Gupta, Ramya and Anupam Kher. The music in the movie was given by Laxmikant Kudalkar and Pyarelal. The songs in the movie were sung by Alka Yagnik, Ila Arun, Kavita Krishnamurthy and Jagjit Singh.

The story opens with a criminal Ballu ( Sanjay Dutt ), who is wanted by police at any cost. Inspector Ram Kumar Sinha ( Jackie Shroff ) is given the task of arresting Ballu. Inspector Ram almost caught Ballu but he manages to escape. Now, all this is a blow on Ram’s reputation and he is eager to catch Ballu. Ram’s girlfriend Ganga ( Madhuri Dixit ) who is a prison guard, helps his boyfriend to catch the criminal. She portrays as a dancer and attracts Ballu and is able to take him in confidence.

Ballu makes Ganga a member of his gang and slowly fells in love with her. Ganga becomes one of the most trusted members of the gang. Slowly, Ganga also develops a soft corner for Ballu. The mystery takes a turn when Ballu comes across Ganga’s Identification Card. Ballu is shocked to see that Ganga whom he loves madly is there to trap him. Will Ganga’s be able to succeed in her target? How will Ram catch Ballu? The songs in the movie are all time hits.
