Bollywood action thriller, Khauff, written and directed by Sanjay Gupta was released on March 3, 2000. The movie starred Sanjay Dutt and Manisha Koirala in lead roles while Sharad Kapoor, Parmeet Sethi, Satyendra Kapoor, Simran, Beena Banerjee, Mukesh Khanna, Navin Nischol, Suresh Oberoi, Ishrat Ali and Farida Jalal also played important characters in the film. The melodious music of the movie was directed by the music directors Anu Malik and Aadesh Srivastava in collaboration while the songs were rendered by Sukhwinder Singh, Kumar Sanu, Daler Mehndi, Shankar Mahadevan, Alka Yagnik, Jaspinder Narula, Anuradha Paudwal and Asha Bhonsle.

Neha Verma ( Manisha Koirala ) is an Air Hostess by profession. She witnesses the murder of a police officer named Jaidev Singh ( Mukesh Khanna ) while returning from the marraige of her friend, Ritu Pereira ( Simran ). She manage to escape from there but accidently drops her identification card there. Then another police inspector, Arjun ( Sharad Kapoor ) locates the card and ask her about the murder. Neha then decides to help police and identifies the killer, who turns out to be, Samrat Singhania ( Parmeet Sethi ), son of a prominent Minister, Mr. Singhania ( Suresh Oberoi ).

Neha is then send to Mauritious by Arjun so that she can pe protected from Samrat and his goons. There Neha meets with a handsome young guy named Vicky ( Sanjay Dutt ) and falls in love with him. Soon they both get married to each other. But the very next morning, neha reveals that Vicky is not who he is pretending to be. She get shocked to learn that Vicky is actually a killer by the name of Babu, who has been assigned the task of murdering neha.
