The romantic action movie Khushi was released on February 7, 2003 under the banner of Narsimha Enterprises. The movie was directed by S J Suryah and produced by Boney Kapoor. The important roles in the movie were played by Fardeen Khan, Amrish Puri, Kareena Kapoor and Naveen Nischol while the roles of Beena and Johny Lever were equally important. Music of the film was directed by Anu Malik and the songs were sung by Sonu Nigam, Hema Sardesai, Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik and Shaan.

Movie Khushi produced by Boney Kapoor is the love story of two young people who are in love with each other but can not speak out their hearts to each other. The story is about a boy and a girl in love kept apart by their own inflated egos. While Karan ( Fardeen Khan ) is born Calcutta, Khushi ( Kareena Kapoor ) is born in Chamoli, a village in Gadhwal, UP. Both come from different family backgrounds. While Karan is a modern guy who wishes to pursue his higher education in Canada, Khushi belongs to a reserve family.

Being a reserved family, Khushi’s father ( Amrish Puri ) has a view that the girls should not study much and should settle in the household soon. Thus he also started looking for the right match for her. But Khushi wanted to study further and thus took admission in a college in Mumbai. On the other hand, Karan too was unable to go to Canada and found himself studying in the same college. Soon the love story started building between the two and it was not a love at first sight love.
