Bollywood action packed family drama movie, Khwaab, directed Shakti Samanta was released in the year 1980. The movie starred Mithun Chakraborthy and Ranjeeta in lead roles while Ashok Kumar, Naseeruddin Shah, Yogeeta Bali, Madan Puri, Asrani and Sujit Kumar also played significant characters in the film. The hit melodious music of the movie was composed by the veteran music director Ravindra Jain while the songs were rendered by Suresh Wadkar, K J Yesudas, Jaspal Singh etc.

The movie starred Mithun Chakroborthy in lead male characters. And just like his other films, Mithun displayed his excellent acting skills in it. Mithun started his acting career with a movie titled Mrigaya in the year 1976. After that he never looked back. He gave many superhit films in the form of Hum Se Badhkar Kaun, Disco Dancer, Suraksha, Ghar Ek Mandir, Agneepath etc. Later in his career, he worked in some low grade movies too but no one ever dared to raise finger on his acting talent.

Besides him, Ashok Kumar and Naseeruddin Shah also played important characters in the film. Naseer once again proved his superb acting skills with his performance in the film. Ashok Kumar too displayed his mettle in the acting in the film. Ranjeeta also played well her part in the film. The movie did well at the box office and also the songs of the movie became hit among the audience.
