Bollywood suspense thriller, Kudrat, directed by Raj N. Sippy was released on December 11, 1998. The movie starred Akshaye Khanna and Urmila Matondkar in lead roles while Kiran Kumar, Paresh Rawal, Aruna Irani and Kadar Khan also played important characters in the film. The superhit msuic of the film was directed by none other than well known music director Rajesh Roshan while the songs were beautifully rendered by Abhijeet, Poornima, Udit Narayan, Kumar Sanu, Sadhana Sargam, Alka Yagnik, Kavita Krishnamurthy. The movie was proved out to be an average hit at the box office but its songs became quite a rage among masses.

Young and handsome, Vijay Verma ( Akshaye Khanna ), returns home after completing his studies in America. He meets with a beautiful girl named Madhu ( Urmila Matondkar ) and falls in love with her. After initial fight, Madhut too falls in love with him. When Madhu’s dad, Sukhiram ( Paresh Rawal ), learns about ther love relationship between Madhu and Vijay, he opposes to this. He even goes to kill Vijay but unexpectedly changes his opinion after meeting him. He also arranges the engagement party for Vijay and Madhu. But in pasty he suddenly changes his mode and ask Vijay and his parents to get out of his house.

Madhu tries to oppose her father but is somehow convinced by ukhiram that Vijay is not the perfect match for her. Sukhiram also indicates towards a secret of Vijay’s family. Vijay confronts his family for that secret Sukhiram was mentioning but after getting no reply from anyone, he decides to learns about his family’s past on his own. He finally get succed in learning that his father is not who he claims to be but a cold-blooded murderer, who is the killer of Sukhiram’s family.
