Lakeer - The Forbidden Lines was a romantic action movie released on May 14, 2004 under the banner of Vicky Films. The movie was directed by Ahmed Khan and produced by Vivek Kumar. The important roles in the film were played by Sunny Deol, Sohail Khan, Sunil Shetty and John Abraham while the presence of Apoorva Agnihotri and Nauheed Cyrusi supported the film. Music of the film was directed by A R Rahman and the songs were sung by Daler Mehndi, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Shaan, Kunal Ganjawala and Hariharan.

The movie Lakeer - The Forbidden Lines is a special film for the choreographer Ahmed Khan who turned director with this film. The movie is not a typical Hindi movie with love or dance theme but is the story of the relationships. The star casts in the movie comprising of Bollywood’s action heroes Sunny Deol, Sunil Shetty, Sohail Khan and John Abraham gives an impression that it is a complete action movie but it deals more with the emotions than actions. The first half of the movie is better than the second where the movie turns into a usual love triangle.

The movie revolves around Arjun Rana ( Sunny Deol ) who is a rich and famous personality feared by almost everyone. Arjun loves his brother Karan ( Sohail Khan ) very much and can do anything for him. Karan uses this quality of Arjun in favour of him and also the advantage of his rich and famous image to get what he desire. Sanju ( Suniel Shetty ), a motor mechanic,  also admire Arjun and love his brother Saahil ( John Abraham ). Saahil studies in a college and loves Bindiya ( Nauheed Cyrusi ), sister of Arjun.
