Loc – Kargil was a war movie released on December 26, 2003 under the banner of J P Films. The movie was solely directed and produced by J P Dutta. The important roles in the movie were played by Ajay Devgan, Akshaye Khanna, Manoj Bajpai and Saif Ali Khan while the roles of Sanjay Dutt and Abhishek Bachchan were also important. The music of the film was directed by Anu Malik and the songs were sung by Sonu Nigam, Sukhwinder Singh, Hariharan, Udit Narayan and Roop Kumar Rathod.

Director J P Dutta is a renowned director for producing all sorts of patriotic movies and Loc – Kargil belongs to this genre of his. The movie Loc – Kargil is his attempt to bring out the harsh realities faced by the soldiers who fought and sacrificed their lives against the rebel of Pak army in the battle of Kargil. The soldiers were also supposed to fight the brutal nature. Capt. Vikram Batra ( Abhishek Bachchan ) belonging to J&K Rifles was a leader in true sense, who always pushed his soldiers to attain their prime goal.

Lt. Manoj Pandey ( Ajay Devgan ) was abrave fighter who didn’t mind losing his life while fighting for that ultimate objective. The jaat from Harayana Lt. Balwaan Singh ( Akshaye Khanna ) was a daring soldier who looked straight into the eyes of his enemy. Lt. Col Y. K Joshi ( Sanjay Dutt ) was not only the senior officer but was also their friend. A young soldier Capt. Anuj Nayyar ( Saif Ali Khan ) promised her love ( Kareena Kapoor ) that they will unite after their country’s success but he was unable to complete his promise.
