The romantic comedy movie, Love Marriage was released on December 14, 1984. Mehul Kumar directed the movie. The movie was made under the banner of United Movie Maker. The star cast of the movie included Anil Kapoor, Mehmood, Asrani and Aruna Irani, while Meenakshi, Utpal Dutt, and Shriram Lagoo played the supporting roles. Kishore Kumar, Alka Yagnik and Amit Kumar sung the songs for the movie and Anu Malik was the music director.

Rajesh Mehra ( Anil Kapoor ) an affluent man stays with his family. His dada arranges his marriage to Malti, daughter of evenly rich man, Jagdish Kapoor ( Arvind Joshi ).When Rajesh is informed about his marriage, he refuses as Malti is mentally insane .A controversy occurs followed by the departure of Rajesh. He acquainted a poultry farmer, Majid Kaliya who shelters him. Rajesh takes up a job as a singer in a nightclub where he comes across Ritu Mafatlal ( Meenakshi Sheshadri ) and both fall in love with each other. However, Ritu’s dad wishes for a wealthy groom for Ritu and refuses for their marriage.

Both of them elope and get married. However, after the marriage Majid’s wife, Shabnam does not permit both of them to stay in their house. Understanding the situation, Majid lends two tickets of Mysore to them. However, tickets are in the name of called Kaushal and Kamini Tiwari .Both of them land up at Srivastav’s residence who is a Hitler like jailor who had been fired from his job for letting jai and Veeru escape the prison. Confusion ends up when both of them plan to run with the jailor and a old classification of characters chase the couple.
