Former bollywood actress, Mamta Kulkarni, was born on April 20, 1972 in Mumbai, India. She made her debut in the year 1992 with hit movie titled Tiranga. But she first came in limelight after posing topless for a popular Indian Film mgazine, Stardust, in the year 1993. After that she starred opposite Saif Ali Khan in Aashiq Awara. The film did moderate business at the box office. Her next film titled Waqt Hamara Hai opposite Suniel Shetty and Akshay Kumar did well for her. She delievered another hit in the form of Nana Patekar starrer Krantiveer.

She established herself as a sex symbol of bollywood after performing some bold roles in the movies like Karan Arjun and Baazi. She worked opposite Aamir Khan in Baazi. A very hot song was picturised on Aamir and Mamta in the film. Akshay Kumar starrer Sabse Bada Khiladi was also well recieved by the audiences. Her performance in the film also recieved positive response from critics as well as from audiences.

Later Rajkumar Santoshi gave her a lead role in his action-thriller China Gate. She performed a deglamourised girl in the film for the first time in her acting career. However, the movie proved out to be a big flop at the box office. After that she worked in some other movies too such as Qila, Censor and Kabie Tum Kabhie Hum. But after giving a series of flop films, she completely lost her position in bollywood industry. Later she married an NRI and moved to New York City.
