Maya Memsaab was a mysterious romantic movie released in the year 1993. The movie was directed and produced by Ketan Mehta. The lead roles in the movie were played by Shahrukh khan, Deepa Sahi and Raj Babbar while some good roles were played by Farooq Sheikh, Paresh Rawal, Om Puri and Shreeram Lagoo. The music of the movie was directed by Hridaynath Mangeshkar and the singers were Lata Mangeshkar and Kumar Sanu. The lyrics were written by Gulzar. The story writer was Ketan Mehta.

The story starts with flashback where Maya ( Deepa Sahi ) is lost in the memories of her past. The past shows, Maya fells in love with a doctor named Dr. Charu Das ( Farooq Sheikh ) and leads her life happily in the beginning. Later she gets sick of the uniformity of her married life and gets involved in extra-marital affairs. She wanted to lead a sensational life which is full of romance and extravagance. She starts pretending as a lavish lady to get happiness but is still not satisfied in her life.

Now, during the course of her affairs she comes across a young boy named Lalit ( Shahrukh Khan ) who also fells in love with Maya. Their love blossoms and soon they get involved in sexual relationship. Maya becomes selfish in her relationship and later feels the same monotony. The more she wanted to enjoy life the further she dragged herself into messed up relationships. In the end she was into her thought world that even she lost her house and living. The movie presents some sensual love scenes which were targeted by the critics.
