Mera Dharam was an action movie released in the year of 1986. The movie was directed by Bapu while it was produced by Ratan Irani. The major roles in the movie were enacted by Jackie Shroff, Aruna Irani, Amrita Singh and Shakti Kapoor while the roles of Amrish Puri, Pradeep Kumar, Bharat Bhushan, Sudhir Pandey and Sharat Saxena were equally important. The music of the film was directed by Bappi Lahiri while the lyrics were given by Hasan Kamaal.

Mera Dharam was a great action film that revolved mostly around two aristocrats, Divijay Thakur ( Amrish Puri ) and Sehgal ( Pradeep Kumar ). They are a good friend but once when on hunting, they find themselves in dispute when both of them wanted to shoot the tiger. The fight turns into a massive one incorporating the use of guns. The fight results in Sehgal getting killed while Thakur was seriously injured.

Now Sehgal’son wanted to take revenge of his father’s death from the Thakur and goes to kill him. But before he could so, Thakur dies. It was since then the two families hate each other and do not wish to see each other’s face. The movie takes a turn when Jai Singh Sehgal ( Jackie Shroff ) and Durga Digvijay ( Amrita Singh ) fall in love with each other. But it was not easy for them to marry each other as both Digvijay Thakur and Hari Singh Sehgal were against this marriage.
