Bollywood romantic flick, Mere Sanam, directed by Amar Kumar and written by Narendra bedi was released in the year 1965. The movie starred Biswajeet and Asha parekh in lead roles while Pran, Nasir Hussain, Rajendra nath, Asit Sen, Laxmi Chhaya, Mumtaz, Dhumal and Achala Sachdev also played important characters in the film. The melodious evergreen music of the movie was directed by the legendary music director O. P. Nayyar while the songs were rendered by Mohammed Rafi, Asha Bhonsle etc.

The movie starts with a beautiful girl named Neena ( Asha parekh ), who visits a hill station alongwith her mother and some friends on a holiday. They stays at a lodge in night. A young and handsome guy named Kumar ( Biswajeet ) also arrives their and claims to be the owner of the lodge. He asks the caretaker Shyam ( Pran ) to get rid of the intruders as soon as possible. Shyam assures him that he will soon get rid of the intruders but instead of asking Neena to leave, he tells them that Kumar is a mental patient.

He manage to convince Neena and the group that Kumar is mentally unstable. Neena feels sorry for Kumar and tries to be friendly with him. On the otherhand, Kumar dislikes her as she keep distrubing his privacy. But soon they both falls in love with each other and decides to get married. But problem arises when Neena come acroos soem photographs of Kumar in which he is in a very intimate position with another woman. Who is the lady in the pictures and what sort of relationship Kumar is having with her.
