The romantic movie Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai was released on June 7, 2002 under the banner of Yash Raj Films. The movie was directed by Sanjay Gadhvi and produced by Yash Chopra. The significant roles in the movie were played by Uday Chopra, Tulip Joshi, Jimmy Shergill and Bipasha Basu while the presence of Saurabh Shukla and Parikshit Sahani supported the film. The music of the film was directed by Pritam Chakraborty and the songs were sung by K K, Sudesh Bhosle, Udit Narayan, Sunidhi Chauhan and Alka Yagnik.

Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai was the most awaited film under the Yash Raj Films banner. The movie starred two actors Uday Chopra and Jimmy Shergill of the Yash Raj Films Mohabbatein. Sanjay Gadhvi had assisted Anant Balani, in directing movies Patthar Ke Phool and Jazbaat but became the lead director with the movie Tere Liye. Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai is his second movie as the lead director since then. The story of the movie is inspired from the Hollywood flick My Best Friend’s Wedding.

Love can happen to anyone and in any form. Love came to Sanjay ( Uday Chopra ) with troubles and when it was not expected. Sanjay had been sharing room with Ria ( Bipasha Basu ). Her romantic relation with him lasted a week and then she dumped him to remain friends. One day he was invited to attend his childhood friend Anjali’s ( Tulip Joshi ) wedding. Sanjay goes to Dehradun with a mission to break her wedding and was hoping the best till he meets the groom Rohit ( Jimmy Shergill ).
