Bollywood actress, Monica Bedi, was born on January 18, 1975 in Punjab, India. She began her career with a moderate hit movie titled Suraksha in whichs she was paired opposite Saif Ali Khan and Suniel Shetty. After that she was seen in Aashiq Mastana and Khilona. Her next three films, Jeeyo Shaan Se, Ek Phool Teen Kaante and Kalicharan failed to do well at the box office. But her very next film, Tirchi Topiwale in whichs she starred opposite Indra Kumar, received an overwhelming response from the audiences. The movie went on to do good business at the box office. She also gave a notable performance in Lohpurush.

She did some supporting roles as well in the movie like Jaanam Samjha Karo and Pyaar Ishq Aur Mohabbat. In Jaanam Samjha Karo she shared screen space with Salman Khan. She starred opposite Sanjay Dutt and Govinda in the comedy flick Jodi No. 1. She was involved with the underworld since the year 1995. She romanced the gangster Abu Salem, who helped her to get work in several bollywood movies. Monica was arrested in Lisbon in September 2002 along with her companion Abu Salem for entering Portugal with forged documents.

Then they were deported to India in November 11, 2005. Monica was acquitted of all criminal charges due to lack of evidence against her. On 25 July 2007, she was released from the Chanchalguda Central Jail. Now she is planning to make a comeback to bollywood films. And in the process, she has also entered in the reality show, Bigg Boss ( Season 2) where she is also a one of the 14 contestants participating in this Indian version of Big Brother.
