Muqabla was an action thriller with a bit of romantic drama. The movie was released in 1979. Raja Desai produced and Rajkumar Kohli directed the movie. The star cast of the movi3e involved Sunil Dutt, Reena Roy and Shatrughan Sinha while Bindiya Goswami, Ranjit, Premnath and Shreeram Lagoo played the supporting roles. Asha Bhosle, Mahendra Kapoor, Kishore Kumar and Mohammad Rafi sang the songs while Laxmikant Kudalkar and Pyarelal gave the music for the movie.

Vicky ( Sunil Dutt ) and Sheru ( Shatrughan Sinha ) are the leaders of a particular mob of men. After a series of obstacles and catastrophes both of them understand that, they are doing no good to the society as humans .They portray good friendship and jointly commence helping the poor and the needy. Soon, Vicky falls in love with a young woman ( Bindiya Goswami ) and Sheru falls in love with a beautiful girl named Laxmi alias Lacho ( Reena Roy ).

When Vicky and Sheru change their attitude towards the world and become kind and helpful, one of their earlier colleagues, Banwari ( Ranjeet ) is not convinced with their decision. Banwari gets agitated and he continues the same bad profession. Fortunately, the two heroes are supported by an honest police inspector ( Premnath ). Later, Sheru discovers that Lacho truly loves Vicky, this poisoned the friendship between Vicky and Sheru. Moreover, the two resumed their old rivalry and hatred for each other.
