Bollywood movie, Nai Roshni, directed by C. V. Sridhar and written by Nihar Rranjan Gupta was released in the year 1967. The movie starred Raaj Kumar and Mala Sinha in lead roles while Biswajeet, Ashok Kumar, Anwar Hussain, Tanuja, Asit Sen, Bhanumati and Pahadi Sanyal also played significant characters in the film. The evergreen hit music of the movie was directed by the well knwon veteran music director duo Ravi while the songs were crooned by Mohammed Rafi, Mahendra kapoor, Lata mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle etc.

Professor Kumar ( Ashok Kumar ) lives alongwith his wife, a son named Jyoti ( Raaj Kumar ) and two daughters named Rekha ( Mala Sinha ) and Chitra ( Tanuja ). Jyoti gets addicted to alcohol and starts coming late in night. Kumar’s elder daughter, Rekha is a beautiful but orthodox type of girl, who wants to get married with the guy choosen by her father only. On the other hand, his younger daughter, Chitra wants to live her life on her won terms and does not want any type of interference of anyone even of her father in her life.

Chitra is infact having an affair with a Judge’s son, Ramesh Nath ( Shailesh Kumar ). Chitra knows that Ramesh is an alocoholic and a womenizer but still she wants to get married with him only. Chitra gets physical with Ramesh and as a result of this, she gets pregnant with his child. The life of Kumar’s family gets upturned when a guy named Prakash ( Biswajeet ) enters in their life and claims that Kumar is having an affair with his mother. What will happen now?
