Bollywood suspense action drama, Nalayak, directed by Padmanabh was released in the year 1978. The movie starred Jeetendra and Leena Chandavarkar in lead roles while Sujit Kumar, Asrani, Dara Singh, Bindu, Satyendra kapoor, Nirupa Roy and Raza Murad also played important characters in the film. The melodious music of the movie was directed by none other than veteran music director while the songs were rendered by Mohammed Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar etc.

The movie starts with a young and handsome guy named Laxman Narayan ( Jeetendra ), who believes in living life at his will. However, his way of living is not appreciated by his elder brother, Ram Narayan ( Satyendra Kapoor ). He tries to bring him on line but Laxman is always supported by his sister-in-law. Ram Narayan works in a jewellery store. Laxman meets with a girl named Seema ( Leena Chandavarkar ) and falls in love with her. He get shocked to learn that Ram narayan has been arrested by police in the charge of a murder.

Laxman is sure that his brother can not murdered anyone at all. He decides to uncover the truth of the muder of Rita ( Bindu ). He gets another shock when he finds out that Seema is the younger sister of Rita. Laxman has decides to go straight in his life from now onwards but before that he wants to prove the innocence of his brother in court. But in process of revealing the truth he himself gets into a big trouble which will lead him to police station just like his brother.
