Former bollywood actress, Pooja Bhatt, was born on February 24, 1972 in Mumbai, India. She is the daughter of film director Mahesh Bhatt. Her cousin, Emraan Hashmi, is a famous bollywood star. She is married to Manish Makhija, who owns a restaurant in Goa. Pooja made her debut at the age of just 17 with the film titled Daddy. The film failed to do well at the box office but she won several acclaims for her performance in the film. Her first big hit came in the form of Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahi in which she played the female lead opposite Aamir Khan. The film recieved very good response from the audiences and went on to become a big hit. Pooja also received the Filmfare Best Female Debut Award for the film.

She gave another memorable performance in Sanjay Dutt starrer Sadak. After starring in some flop films she delivered another superb performance in Naseeruddin Shah Starrer Sir. She was next seen opposite Mithun Chakraborty in romantic thriller Tadipaar. She also wroked in some Tamil films too. She delievered some flop films in the form of Gunehgaar, Hum Dono, Angrakshak etc. Then she shot back again with a hit film Chaahat in whichs she starred opposite Shahrukh Khan.

She was then seen in a short role in epic war film, Border. She then once again give a series of flop films such as Yeh Aashiqui Meri, Angaaray etc. She also played a supporting role in Ajay Devgan starrer Zakhm. Her last film appearance was in Everybody Says I’m Fine in 2001. After that she styarts focussing on film production and direction work. She made her directorial debut with John Abraham and Udita Goswami starrer Paap in 2004. She is currently busy in her forthecoming flick titled Kajraare whch stars singer turned actor, Himesh Reshamiya in it.
