Pratikaar was an action pact family drama released on August 16, 1991. The movie was directed by T Rama Rao and the producer of the movie was Firoz Nadiawala. The main roles in the movie were played by Satyen Kappu, Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit and Paresh Rawal. Other appreciable roles were played by Rakhee, Om Prakash, Tej Sapru and Nirupa Roy. The music of the movie was directed by Bappi Lahiri while the songs were sung by Sudesh Bhosle, Asha Bhosle, Amit Kumar and Alka Yagnik. The lyricist was Anand Bakshi.

The movie’s story is quite confusing. In the movie Krishna ( Anil Kapoor ) and Narayan ( Satyen Kappu ) live in a small house along with their father and uncle Sajhan ( Paresh Rawal ). After the death of their father, Sajhan throws them out of the house and they seek shelter with Saraswati Devi ( Rakhee ). Saraswati had two children of her own Suraj and Jyoti. Sajhan poisons Suraj’s mind and he leaves his mother’s house. Saraswati gives the children all the happiness in the world so that they grow up well.

Years later, Sajhan’s son Raghu ( Tej Sapru ) is also grown up and is now the local gangster of the city protected by his dad. Rahgu rapes Jyoti and kills her. Saraswati and Krishna try their best to get him sentenced but he bribes the local police. He also hits Saraswati Devi by his car and she becomes a handicap. Now both Saraswati and Krishna were planning revenge but had to face Suraj, who was now a Police Inspector. The story is full of twist and turns.
