Pratishod was an action movie released in the year of 1980. The movie was directed by I V Sasi and produced by Kailosh Saraogi. The main roles in the movie were played by Soman, Madhoo, Jaya Bharti and Sharda while the presence of Vidhubala, Bahadur and Ummar supported the film. The music of the film was directed by Ravindra Jain while the songs were sung by Kishore Kumar.

Pratishod was an action flick that revolved mostly around a man named who lived a poor life with his family consisting of his father Vasu, mother Kamlakshi and her sister Shankari. His father managed a boat to earn his living and used to transport people from one place to another on his boat named St. Theddeus. Vasu lived with the whole family and found Shankari attractive thus he also got intimate with her several times.

The movie takes another turn when Pelli started getting intimate with Shankari. This made Vasu to warn him but argument took a big scene and went out of their hands with both Kamlakshi and Vasu getting killed at the hands of Pelli. Shankari had nothing to do and thus turned into a prostitute when she grew old and eventually into a brothel manager. Pelli also got intimate with another woman in fact the daughter of a widow, promised to marry her but escaped from the place for three long years.
