Bollywood romantic drama, Prem Geet, directed by Sudesh Issar was released on September 25, 1981. The movie starred Raj Babbar and Anita Raj in lead roles while Madan Puri, Viju Khote, Raj Kishore, Shashi Ranjan, Rajni Sharma, Yasminj and Kumar Gautam also played importanat characters in the film. The melodious hit music of the film was directed by the famous gazal singer and music director Jagjit Singh while the songs were rendered by Jagjit Singh, Asha Bhonsle and Anuradha Paudwal.

Aakash Bhardwaj ( Raj Babbar ) is a well known singer by profession. He is a also a poet but publishges his poems with the name of Kavi Nishant. He meets with a beautiful girl named Shikha ( Anita Raj ), who is a big fan of him. She wants to work alongwith him and Akash agrees to do so. Soon they both falls in love with each other and wants to get married. But Akash’s father wants him to marry another girl Asha ( Rajni Sharma ), who belongs to a rich family.

Akash finally manage to convince his father that he will marry with Sikha only. BUT Akash get shocked when Shikha refuse to get married with him. Heartbroken Akash tries to find out the reason for which Shikha refused to marry him. He learns that Shikha has only a few months to live. He also reveals thta Shikha is pregnant with his child. What will happen next?
