Bollywood movie, Saccha Jhutha, directed by Manmohan Desai was released in the year 1970. The movie starred Rajesh Khanna and Mumtaz in lead roles while Vinod Khanna also played a supporting role in the film. The hit music of the film was given by the famous music director duo Kalyanji Anandji and the songs were sung by Kishore Kumar, Mohammed Rafi, Asha Bhonsle and Lata Mangeshkar. The movie recieved good response from the audience as well as by critics and went on to became one of the biggest hit of that year.

The movie starts with a simple villager named Bhola ( Rajesh Khanna ) who is also a good musician. He arrives in Bombay to become a famous musician and also to earn money for his handicapped sister, Belu’s ( Kumari Naaz ) marriage. He meets with his lookalike, Ranjeet Kumar, who is a waelthy business but in real he is a moonlight diamond theif. Ranjeet plans to use Bhola to impersonate him for the social engagements so that he could do his criminal activities with ease and without any suspicion.

The case of the frequent jewel robberies is given to a honest and diligent Police Inspector Pradhan ( Vinod Khanna ). Pradhan seeks help of a women police officer, Meena or Rita ( Mumtaz ), to lure Ranjeet Kumar. Meena manages to attract Ranjeet towards herself but is not known to the fact that the person with whom she is flirting is actually Bhola. On the other hand, with the help of Bhola, Ranjeet also manages to baffle the police department as to how can one person be at two places at the same time.
