Salaam Namaste was a romantic movie released on September 9, 2005 under the banner of Yash Raj Films. The movie was directed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Aditya Chopra and Yash Chopra. The lead roles in the movie were played by Saif Ali Khan, Arshad Warsi, Preity Zinta and Tania Zaetta while there were several special appearances by Javed Jaffrey and Abhishek Bachchan. Music of the film was directed by Vishal-Shekhar while the songs were sung by Kunal Ganjawala, Shaan, Sunidhi Chauhan, Vasundhara Das and Gayatri Ganjawala.

Salaam Namaste is a movie that raises a topic that is also a bit controversial. The movie is based on the theme of live-in relationships and the director Siddharth Raj Anand handles this subject properly. Nikhil Arora aka Nick ( Saif Ali Khan ) want to be known as Nick rather than his full name. He moved from Ludhiana to Melbourne to become a good chef and also because this profession allows him to sleep as late he wants to. Ambar Malhotra ( Preity Zinta ) also moved here from Bangalore and the prime reason for that is she didn’t like meeting people that come to see her for her marriage.

Ambar is a student and also a part time RJ. As a part of her job, she was supposed to interview Indians living in Melbourne and one day one interview changed her life forever. Nick missed an interview in her show and then she decided to teach her lesson particularly about his punctuality. She ends up living in with him in the same house and sharing and helping the other person. Several complications starts taking place and both then change their paths.
