Bollywood horror flick, Samri, directed by Shyam Ramsay and Tulsi Ramsay was released on November 17, 1985. The movie starred Rajan Sippy and Aarti Guha in lead roles while Puneet Issar, Huma Khan, Anirudh Goyal, Gulshan Grover, Jagdeep, Asha sachdev and Prem Chopra also played important characters in the film. The melodious music of the movie was directed by the well known music director Bappi Lahiri while the songs were rendered by Kishore Kumar Ganguly, Amit Kumar Ganguly, S Janaki, Anup Jalota etc.

Dharmesh Saxena ( Anirudh Agarwal ) is famous with the name of Samri among people. He is living a wealthy lifestyle in his palatial big house. He is a very reliegious kind of person and strongly believes in supernatural powers. He also believes in black magic. He is famous for his Devi Maa Kaali worship. His life gets upturned when he learns that he is going to die soon. He decides to tell about his death to his relatives. He decides to transfer all his wealth to his niece, Anju Trivedi ( Aarti Guha ).

Anju arrives there. Meanwhile, Samri’s step brother, Taklifchand ( Prem Chopra ) also arrives there with the intentions of inherit the whole wealth of Samri. Taklifchand get shocked to learn that Samri is planning to transfer all his wealth to Anju. Taklifchand then decides to kill Samri with the help of his friend, Khanna ( Gulshan Grover ), Maria and Chatterjee. Samri is brutally killed by them. Police is convinced by taklifchand that Samri committed suicide for some reasons.
