The action film Sarfarosh was released on March 8, 1985. The movie was directed by Desai Narayana Rao and produced by Prasan Kapoor. The main roles in the movie were played by Jeetendra, Kader Khan, Sridevi and Leena Chandavarkar while the presence of Pran¸ Ranjeet, Asrani, Prem Chopra, Asha Lata, Bindu, Leena Das and Satyen Kappu supported the film. The music of the film was directed by Laxmikant Kudalkar and Pyarelal while the songs were sung by Kishore Kumar.

The movie Sarfarosh was an action film that managed to hold the attention of the audience for a long time. The movie revolved around three people Satyedev ( Ranjeet ), Dharmadhikari ( Kader Khan ), and Buddhiram ( Prem Chopra ). These three people were responsible for charging a famous freedom-fighter Jwala Singh ( Jeetendra ) falsely and gave them imprisonment. He was then saved by Police Inspector Suraj Kapoor ( Jeetendra ) who was none other than Jwala’s son.

The male lead in the film was played by Jeetendra who has given many hit films to the Bollywood like Badi Didi, Nagin, Swarg Narak, Jaani Dushman and Hatim Tai amongst others. He debuted with the movie Geet Gaya Patharon Ne released in 1964. The female lead in the film was played by Sridevi who has acted in films like Justice Choudhary released in 1983, Bhagwan Dada released in 1986 and Khuda Gawah released in 1992 while her first film was Jaise Ko Taisa released in 1973.
