Bollywood romantic comedy drama, Shatranj, directed by Aziz Sejawal and written by Sanjeev Duggal was released on December 17, 1993. The movie starred Mithun Chakraborthy and Juhi Chawla in lead roles while Jackie Shroff, Divya Bharti, Arun bakshi, Harbans Darshan, Kadar Khan, Deep Dhillon, Vikas Anand, Shakti Kapoor, Ramesh Goyal, Viju Khote and Dinesh Hingoo also played significant characters in the film. The melodious music of the movie was composed by the well known music director duo Anand Milind and Monty Sharma in collaboration while the songs were rendered by Kumar Sanu, Alka Yagnik etc.

Dinki Verma ( Mithun Chakraborthy ) and Dino Verma ( Jackie Shroff ) are two brothers, who are running a garage with the help of a trained monkey. They are living alongwith their elder brother named Dharamraj ( Kadar Khan ). Dharamraj hates womens and for this reason has not married. He is also determined to not let his brothers to get married to any woman. Dinki falls in love with a beautiful girl named Radha ( Juhi Chawla ) and Dino too falls in love with a girl named Renu ( Divya Bharti ). Thery tries to convince Dharamraj for their marriage but fails.

Dino and Dinki then reveals the secret behind Dharamraj’s hatred towards womens. They reveals that Dharamraj was also in love with a women but she betrayed him and got married to someone else. Now Dino and Dinki decides to make their elder brother, Dharamraj to falls in love again with soem other woman and in this they receives help from their girlfriends. Will they ever be able to change Dharamraj’s mind about womens?
