The comedy movie Shaukeen wsa released in the year of 1982. The movie was directed by Basu Chatterjee and produced by Debika Mitra. The key roles in the movie were enacted by Ashok Kumar, A K Hangal, Utpal Dutt and Rati Agnihotri while Mithun Chakraborty, Asha Lata, Mrinalini, Gita Siddharth and Jay Shree T were also there in the film. The music of the film was directed by R D Burman while the songs were sung by Ashok Kumar, Asha Bhosle, Suresh Wadkar and Kishore Kumar.

The movie Shaukeen was a comedy flick that revolved mostly around three old men named Om Prakash Choudhry ( Ashok Kumar ), Jagdishbhai ( Utpal Dutt ) and Inder Sen ( A K Hangal ) who are also the best friends for quite some time now. They all are in their early sixties but they feel that they are still in forties. The personal lives of the three friends revolve about their families. While Choudhry lives with his wife Sita ( Asha Lata ), Inder is widowed, and Jagdish is divorced.

The three friends were very close to each other but the problem was that they all were addicted to few things like alcohol, smoking and also womanizing. The story takes a twist when the three friends were able to satisfy their needs of first two things while not of the third. One day Sita decides to go on a religious trip and this was when the three decided to enjoy their lives and have fun with women. They hired a car driver Sakharam and goes to Goa where they visit a night club in the midnight.
