Bollywood action thriller, Suhaag, directed by Sandesh Kohli was released on October 20, 1994. The movie starred Ajay Devgan, Akshay Kumar and Karishma Kapoor in lead roles while Nagma, Aruna Irani, Suresh Oberoi, Tiku Talsania and Dalip Tahil also played important roles in the film. the music of the film was given by famous music director duo Anand Milind while the songs were rendered by Kumar Sanu, Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik, S. P. Balasubramaniam, Sadhana Sargam etc. The movie recieved good response from the audience and went on to well at the box office window.

The movie starts with Ajay Sharma ( Ajay Devgan ), who is living with his widow mother ( Aruna Irani ). Raj Sinha ( Akshay Kumar ) is the best friend of Ajay and both are studying in the same college. Ajay is in love with a beautiful girl named Pooja ( Karishma Kapoor ) and Raj loves Madhu ( Nagma ). Ajay decides to go Dubai in search of job and ask for his birth certificate from his mother. His mother tears the paper apart in his absence and tells him that the documents are missing. Ajay finds out the teared paper outside and he puts them together. He finds out from the paper that his real name is Ajay Malhotra.

He questions this to his mother. His mother then uncovers the truth that his father, Dr. Ravi Malhotra, is still alive and is in prison under the charge of stealing his patient’s organs. He also learns that his father is innocent and framed by hospital owner, Rai Bahadur ( Suresh Oberoi ). Ajay then decides to visit that city and to prove his father innocence in front of everyone. Raj also decides to help him not knowing to the fact that his father was also involved in the false conviction against Ajay’s father.
