The action movie Tejaa was released on December 7, 1990. The movie was directed by Ramnesh Puri and produced by Mahendra Bohra. The major roles in the movie were played by Sanjay Dutt, Ranjeet, Sonu Walia and Puneet Issar while the presence of Amrish Puri, Kimi Katkar, Mahendra Varma, Viju Khote, Surendra Pal and Beena supported the film. The music of the film was directed by Anu Malik and the songs were sung by Asha Bhonsle, Anuradha Paudwal, Kavitha Krishnamurthy and Anu Malik.

One can easily guess the genre of the film Tejaa which happens to be action movie. The story of the movie revolves around three robbers Lal Singh ( Ranjeet ), Heeralal Ghosh ( Puneet Issar ), and Zoravar ( Amrish Puri ). They robbed a bank once and took all the gold bars along with them as many as they could and buried them deep inside the ground. When they returned after several weeks to share the bars among themselves, they were shocked to find that they were gone.

All the robbers suspect the nearby living family and thus kill the husband, wife Shanti ( Beena ), and hang the young son. All the robbers then started running away from the police. Twenty years later, a man named Tejaa ( Sanjay Dutt ) meets with Lal Singh, and kills him. Tejaa then meets Heeralal and befriends with him. He then killed him as well. Zoravar thought that he could be the next target and thus started taking precautions. Tejaa was none other than the son of the family killed by them.
