The action and horror movie Veerana was released on May 6, 1988 under the banner of Ramsay Bros. The movie was directed by none other than the Ramsay brothers Shyam Ramsay and Tulsi Ramsay. The lead roles in the movie were enacted by Hemant Birje, Satish Shah, Jasmin and Sahila while the presence of Gulshan Grover, Rajesh Vivek and Rama Vij were also important. The screenplay of the movie was done by Shyam Ramsay. The songs of the movie were sung by Sharon Prabhakar.

Veerana was a famous horror movie that was able to frighten the audience in a well manner. The story of the movie starts when Thakur ( Vijayendra Ghatge ) entraps a witch who was creating trouble for the people for long time and then he hangs her in front of all the local people of the village. However the turn in the story comes when her disciples move her to a safer place and build a shrine for her. But it was not all, the priest of the village decides to use the body of Thakur’s daughter ( Jasmin ) as a place for the spirit of witch.

Thakur and her daughter were on a trip to their old ancestral home, and it was when he was kidnapped and her daughter’s hair was cut. These hairs are used by the priest to practice necessary rituals to put the spirit of witch into the body of Thakur’s daughter. The priest was then also succeeded to put the spirit of the witch in Thakur’s daughter. Then he arrives at her uncles place claiming that he rescued his niece in the middle of the jungle.
