Yaraana was an action cum musical movie that was released on October 23, 1981. The movie was directed by Rakesh Kumar and produced by H A Nadiadwala. The main roles in the movie were played by Amitabh Bachchan, Tanuja, Neetu Singh and Amjad Khan while the presence of Kader Khan, Aruna Irani, Jeevan, Ranjeet, Bharat Bhushan and Viju Khote supported the film. The music of the film was directed by Rajesh Roshan while the songs were sung by Mohammed Rafi and Kishore Kumar.

Yaraana was a famous film of its time that managed to hold the attention of the audience. The story of the movie revolved mostly round a man named Bishan Kumar ( Amjad Khan ) who lived a comfortable and wealthy life with his widowed mother and his best friend, Kishan ( Amitabh Bachchan ) who is a former servant cum cook. They share some good relationship among themselves. The movie starts when years later Bishan returns to his friend to renew their friendship and also to introduce him to his wife Sheela ( Tanuja ) and son Munna.

The movie takes a turn when Bishan finds that Kishan has a golden voice and is in fact a great singer but he sings only in his village. So he wanted to make him famous in the whole world for which he introduces him to Bharatji. He finishes his training and goes to sing in his first ever concert which proves to be a huge hit. He turns out to be a great star in one night but he soon finds out that his friend Bishan has lost his family and money.
