Bollywood muiscal romantic flick, Ziddi, directed by Pramod Chakraborthy and written by Sachin Bhowmick was released in the year 1964. The movie starred Joy Mukherjee and Asha parekh in lead roles while Mehmood, Sulochana Latkar, Shubha Khote, Nazim,a Raj Mehra, Mohan Choti, Mumtaz Begum and Madan Puri also played important characters in the film. The hit evergreen music of the movie was composed by the veteran well knwon music director Sachin Dev Burmna while the songs were rendered by Mohammed Rafi, Manna Dey, Rahul Dev Burman, Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhonsle.

The movie starts with a young and handsome guy named Ashok Shankar ( Joy Mukherjee ). He sees the photographs of a beautiful girl named Asha Singh ( Asha Parekh ) and decides to accept the job which will keep him in touch with her. But soon his dreams get shattered when he finds out that Asha is actually a spoiled rich girl who never really cares for anyone. Meanwhile, Asha sister, Seema ( Nazima ) gets attracted towards Ashok. However, Ashok frankly tells her that he is not interested in her at all.

Ashok manage to change the attitude of Asha and soon they both starts liking each other. Ashok proposes to Asha and she agrees. Ashok introduces Asha to is father, who refuses to accept her as his daughter-in-law as he knows something bad about Asha. He tells Ashok that Asha is the daughter of an escaped victim, who was charged for murder. He also reveals that Asha’s mother was a prostitute. Ashok is forced to believe his father’s saying when he himself sees Asha dancing in a party.
