Bollywood action thriller, Ziddi, directed by Guddu Dhanoa and written by Robin Henry was released on April 11, 1997. The movie starred Sunny Deol and Raveena Tandon in lead roles while Asish Vidhyarthi, Anupam Kher, Farida Jalal, Sharat saxena, Raj Babbar, Shahbaaz Khan, Mushtaq Khan, Richa Ahuja, Sachin Khedekar, Beena Banerjee and Ajay Manipal also played important characters in the film. The melodious hit music of the film was directed by the trio Dilip Sen, Sameer Sen and Surendra Singh Sodhi while the songs were rendered by Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik, Shweta Shetty, Hariharan, Kumar sanu and Chitra.

Deva ( Sunny deol ) is living a happy life with his family which comprises of his father, Advocate Ashok Pradhan ( Anupam Kher ), his mother, his brother, Aakash ( Sachin Khedekar ) and younger sister, Guddi ( Richa Behl ). But his life gets changed when he is imprisoned after a man tries to misbehave with Guddi. Deva becomes a criminal and soon gets fame among the other criminals. But in the process, he also make some enemies, who are no other than the three other big criminals, Jindal ( Raj Babbar ), Lala ( Shahbaaz Khan ) and Khan ( Sharat Saxena ). But despite being a criminal, Deva is helpful for poorp peoples and always tries to help them to the extent possible.

His sister gets married to his childhood friend, Assitant Commissioner Of Police, Inder Saxena ( Ashish Vidyarthi ). Deva get shocked to know that his brother, Aakash, has been killed brutally by someone. he has only one clue that is the top of a ballpoint pen. To make the matter worse, his sister is also killed. Now Police is behind deva as they think that Deva is responsible for the murder of his brother and sister. Now Deva must find out who is the real murderer?
