Beautiful actress Ameesha Patel was born on June 9, 1976 in Maharashtra, India. She completed her graduation from Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts. Her brother Ashmit Patel is also a bollywood actor. Ameesha made her acting debut in the year 2000 with the superhit film Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai opposite Hrithik Roshan. In her very next film Gadar: Ek Premkatha she played the role of a muslim girl who finds refuge in Sunny Deol’s home during the riots. This film too did well at box office and she won Filmfare Special Performance Award for the film.

But she failed to make a hattrick of hit films as her next film Yeh Zindagi Ka safar opposite Jimmy Shergill was proved out to be a big flop at box office. Year 2002 released Kya Yehi Pyaar hai also failed to do well at box-office. But Abbas-Mustan’s Humraaz, in which she was seen opposite Bobby Deol and Akshay Khanna did extremely well at box office window.

She also performed a short role in Aamir Khan starrer Mangal Pandey: The Rising. Later she did many films in the form of Kranti, Yeh Hai Jalwa, Aap Mujhe Acche Lagne lage, Parwana, Elaan, Humko Tumse Pyaar Hai, Teesri Aankh, Tathastu, Ankahee, Aap Ki Khatir etc.She once again tasted success in her last release Priyadarshan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaan. She is currently waiting for the release of her forthecoming movie Kunal Kohli directed Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic.
